Privacy Policy
This page is maintained by the HeartNest team to explain what information we handle when you use the app. It reflects how the product works today and may change as HeartNest evolves.
What we collect
HeartNest is designed to be minimal. When you create a gift we store what you type or upload:
- Receiver name, sender name, and the personal message.
- Occasion, visual style, palette, effects, and any photos, video, voice notes, or music you attach.
- A short random gift code used to build the shareable link, and basic timestamps (created, first opened, view count).
- An optional passcode, which is stored only as a one-way hash so even we cannot read it.
If you sign in, we also store your account identifier so we can associate the gifts you created with your account. We do not sell personal information.
How gifts are shared
Gifts are opened through a link containing a short random code. Anyone with that link can open the gift, unless you set a passcode — in that case the recipient must enter it before the content is revealed. Treat the link like the gift itself.
Media & storage
Photos, video, and voice attachments are uploaded to a private storage bucket and served through short-lived signed URLs generated when the gift is opened. Files are not listed in a public directory.
Cookies & analytics
HeartNest uses only the cookies and local storage needed to keep you signed in and to remember your in-progress gift while you move between steps. We do not run third-party advertising or cross-site tracking scripts.
Subprocessors
HeartNest runs on secure cloud infrastructure that provides the application hosting, database, authentication, and file storage that back the service. Data you enter is processed on that infrastructure to operate the app.
Retention & deletion
Gifts remain available so recipients can revisit them. If you are signed in you can delete gifts you created from your account, and you can email us to request deletion of a specific gift or of your account. We will remove the gift record and its associated media from active storage.
Your choices
You can request a copy of the information tied to your account, correct it, or ask us to delete it by contacting us at the address below. Because gifts are meant to be shared, please include the gift code when asking about a specific gift.
Children
HeartNest is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. Please do not create an account or upload content on behalf of a child.
Changes
If we make material changes to this policy we will update the date at the top of the page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
